Pauline Theology?

Today in my “Exploring the Bible” class went over Pauline Theology. We also looked at the “Gospel According to Paul.” Interestingly enough, this material was presented as if these were actually different from the rest of what the Bible has to say about God and the Gospel.

I find it fascinating that an author, divinely inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit actually has his own theology, which apparently differs from the theology of his peers (i.e. John and Peter).

  1. Yeah, it’s a ‘red flag’ when the emphasis is on “Pauline Theology” as opposed to the testimony of the whole counsel of God in the Scriptures, as if Paul had different theology from the other Apostles. Usually the ones doing this are “free grace” or should I say, “cheap grace” and turn the grace of God into a license to sin, and deny the Lordship of Christ over the believers life as essential for salvation (Jude 1). John Macarthur has a good book called “The Gospel According to Jesus” that talks about Lordship salvation and ‘Pauline theology’ (i.e. cheap grace). God bless!
